Dismantlement seen of the movie set by RCC live cam
I tried to observe dismantling work of the movie set by RCC live cam in Onomichi. Unfortunately it was not able to be accessed. When the live cam was restored, it was already the end of May. I began observing on the day.

This is not a picture by RCC live cam but it taken by my friend last April. I put it for comparison. This side is the bridge, and inner part is the bow.

May 25, 2006

I began to observe the dismantling of Yamato movie set by RCC live cam from this day. Half month passed from a dismantling work start. She had already been dismantled of her bow, turrets, and a lot of guns.

June 01, 2006

Dismantling of the deck was finished. And dismantling of the bridge was begun.

June 06, 2006

The bridge became only steel frames. The number of crane trucks were increased two to hoist the huge steel frames.

June 08, 2006

The bridge was completely dismantled, and foundation of the movie set began to be dismantled.

June 12, 2006

Dismantling of the foundation was finished. Remaining work is only carrying out of the steel frames piled up there.

June 13, 2006

All steel frames and scraps were carried out. There were only a few trucks and a small shovel car for clear away.

June 15, 2006

The dismantling work was completed. The movie set of battleship Yamato that was a great success was removed from this place, and it returned to a silent abolition dock.

And Then There Were None...

The first half part of the dismantling that I could not observe is introduced following blog. (Japanese)
I have updated the report about film set of battleship Yamato four times since May of last year, and it is an end this time. I was happy for this one year.

Good]by Yamato!
